Ohioans uneasy about food safety
Posted On: Nov 21, 2008 (08:42:47)

" More Ohioans Uneasy about Safety of Food,” October 23, 2008. Ben Sutherly. Dayton Daily News.

“Ohioans are more uneasy about the safety of their food than they were two years ago, according to a statewide survey of more than 1,500 people.

The survey, conducted every two years by Ohio State University, found 57 percent of respondents agreed or strongly agreed with the following statement: ‘Food is not as safe as it was 10 years ago.’ That's up from 44 percent in 2006, and 47 percent in 2004.

The survey was administered this spring on the heels of the largest beef recall in U.S. history, pet food recalls, and as consumers were warned a salmonella outbreak may be due to tainted tomatoes (the bacteria later was found on a Mexican-grown jalapeno pepper)….”
